Kids Napping on Bikes

What is more peaceful that a napping kid? Not much, and if your kids are the ages that mine are (6-8-10-11), they don't nap, and are only peaceful on occasion. But that aside, kids are beautiful, and kids asleep on a bike is wonderful sight.

Many days after dropping one child off at school, my youngest, then age 3, would be asleep by the time we arrived home. I would often find some shade under a tree or a coffee shop and spend a relaxed hour reading. The child is asleep on a bike; no need to wake him.

In 2008, I saw Sarah's photo (below) and loved it. The photo has popped up on occasion, year after year.

This got me thinking: photos of kids napping on bikes, artfully done, with short narratives about family life with a bike, focus on the peace biking provides with kids. I hope someone furthers this idea into a book or extended blog post.
