The third Saturday of the month is coming up. That means KIDICALMASS!
For February, the group is going to the birds ... rather, going to SCRAP to make bird houses for the birds.
BRING: a milk carton or other such item to be the bird house structure.
SOCIALIZE: at the Wittwer house at Noon for breakfast eats and drinks. Want to bring something special? Cool. Otherwise we will have a selection of pastries and fruit.
HEAD OUT: at 1:30 for SCRAP. We will follow all traffic signs and lights. We ride at a slow, kid-friendly pace.
CREATE: using SCRAP's wonderful assortment of supplies, create one-of-a-kind, sure-to-please-the-birds, bird houses. There will be a person on hand to share bird knowledge.
As of this point, the Mayor has not verified his attendance. The staffer who stated conclusively that he wanted to and would attend, did not organize with the mayor's other staffers, and as a result the mayor's attendance has been changed from "YES!" to "would like to". Sadly, I have not heard back from the staffer. However, I am still holding out that the decencies of human respect will prevail and the staffer will email me back with updated information.
But I will not hold my breath. I presume that the staffer made a mistake and is embarrassed about it which is why the staffer has not contacted me, and why I had to learn of the mayor change through Bike Portland.
